How will you vote in the 2020 Election?
Voting Options for the 2020 Election:
- EARLY VOTING via ABSENTEE BALLOT September 18-November 2, 2020. You can obtain an absentee ballot by completing an absentee ballot application on the Secretary of State website. You will receive an absentee ballot in the mail. You may complete the ballot and return it by mail, or you may return it at the Eden Prairie City Hall Mon-Fri, 8-4:30PM. You may also request and complete an absentee ballot in person at Eden Prairie City Hall during the same hours.
- EARLY IN PERSON DIRECT BALLOT VOTING at Eden Prairie City Hall October 27 November 2, 2020. This hybrid voting option allows you to personally place your completed absentee ballot through the voting machine just like you would do on November 3rd. The wait time to vote may be shorter than on November 3rd. Pandemic protocols will be in place. Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct.31 10 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
- IN PERSON voting on November 3rd. Many people enjoy voting in person on election day. It is exciting! During the pandemic, there may be longer lines that are socially distanced, with added protocols for personal safety.
Voting Day Protocols during the pandemic:
According to the Hennepin County website, voting in the 2020 election will include special COVID-19 protocols. Do not enter a polling place if you are sick. In person voters must:
- Stay 6 feet away from other voters and election judges
- Wear a mask or face covering
- Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer after dealing with election judges or touching any voting equipment.
